Penelitian ini mengkaji evolusi penafsiran Quraish Shihab terhadap ayat Ahl al�Bait, khususnya QS. Asy-Syūrā [42]: 23, membandingkan tafsir Al-Miṣbāḥ (2002)
dan konten YouTube (2022), merefleksikan adaptasi tafsir Al-Qur’an di era digital.
Pertanyaan utama penelitian ini adalah bagaimana evolusi penafsiran Quraish
Shihab terjadi dan faktor-faktor apa yang mempengaruhi perubahan pendekatannya
dalam menafsirkan ayat Ahl al-Bait. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis evolusi
penafsiran Quraish Shihab terhadap ayat Ahl al-Bait, mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor
yang mempengaruhinya, dan mengkaji implikasinya terhadap studi Al-Qur’an
kontemporer di Indonesia, khususnya dalam konteks adaptasi digital. Teknik
pengumpulan data melibatkan studi pustaka terhadap tafsir Al-Miṣbāḥ dan
observasi intensif terhadap konten YouTube Quraish Shihab. Peneliti melakukan
transkripsi video menggunakan alat bantu speechlab.ai, serta melakukan screenshot
sebagai bukti dokumentasi. Triangulasi data dilakukan melalui pemeriksaan silang
dengan sumber-sumber lain dan konsultasi dengan pakar di bidang studi Al-Qur’an
dan Tafsir. Analisis data menggunakan teori fusion of horizon Hans-Georg
Gadamer dan model analisis komparatif George Z.F. Bereday. Pendekatan ini
memungkinkan eksplorasi mendalam terhadap faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi
evolusi penafsiran dan perbandingan sistematis antara dua sumber penafsiran. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan evolusi signifikan dalam penafsiran Quraish Shihab,
terutama pada konsep al-Mawaddah fī al-Qurbā dalam QS. Asy-Syūrā [42]: 23.
Penafsiran berevolusi dari pendekatan akademis-komprehensif ke interpretasi yang
lebih kontekstual dan aplikatif. Shihab memperluas makna konsep ini dari konteks
Syi’ah ke realitas Ḥabāib di Indonesia. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi evolusi
meliputi perkembangan ilmu, transformasi sosio-kultural, adaptasi digital,
kedewasaan intelektual-spiritual, dan diskursus publik tentang Ahl al-Bait.
Implikasinya mencakup pengayaan wacana tafsir, kontekstualisasi di era digital,
dan revitalisasi ijtihad kontemporer. Penelitian ini mengindikasikan urgensi
memahami evolusi tafsir Al-Qur’an dalam konteks perubahan sosial dan
perkembangan teknologi informasi di era digital.

This research examines the evolution of Quraish Shihab's interpretation of the Ahl
al-Bait verse, specifically QS. Asy-Syūrā [42]: 23, comparing the Al-Miṣbāḥ
exegesis (2002) with YouTube content (2022), reflecting the adaptation of Quranic
interpretation in the digital era. The primary research questions address how
Quraish Shihab's interpretation has evolved and what factors have influenced his
changing approach to interpreting the Ahl al-Bait verse. This study aims to analyze
the evolution of Quraish Shihab's interpretation of the Ahl al-Bait verse, identify
the influencing factors, and examine its implications for contemporary Quranic
studies in Indonesia, particularly in the context of digital adaptation. Data
collection techniques involve a literature review of the Al-Miṣbāḥ exegesis and
intensive observation of Quraish Shihab's YouTube content. The researcher
transcribed videos using speechlab.ai and captured screenshots for documentation.
Data triangulation was conducted through cross-checking with other sources and
consultation with experts in Quranic and Exegetical studies. Data analysis
employed Hans-Georg Gadamer's fusion of horizon theory and George Z.F.
Bereday's comparative analysis model. This approach allows for an in-depth
exploration of factors influencing the interpretive evolution and a systematic
comparison between two interpretive sources. The findings reveal a significant
evolution in Quraish Shihab's interpretation, particularly regarding the concept of
al-Mawaddahfīal-Qurbā in QS. Asy-Syūrā [42]: 23. The interpretation evolved
from a comprehensive academic approach to a more contextual and applicable
interpretation. Shihab expanded the meaning of this concept from the Shi'ite context
to the reality of Ḥabāib in Indonesia. Factors influencing this evolution include
scholarly developments, socio-cultural transformations, digital adaptation,
intellectual-spiritual maturity, and public discourse on Ahl al-Bait. The
implications encompass enrichment of exegetical discourse, contextualization in
the digital era, and revitalization of contemporary ijtihad. This research indicates
the urgency of understanding the evolution of Quranic interpretation in the context
of social change and the development of information technology in the digital age.
