This study aims to examine the coping strategies used by EFL pre-service
teacher to manage anxiety during field teaching practice in high school. This
research design uses autoethnography research. The participant was the researcher
himself, who had finished his second field teaching practice. The photovoice and
reflective journal were used to obtain the study's qualitative data. The data were
analyzed using Lazarus and Folkman’s (1984) framework for the data category. The
data category was divided into two themes: emotion-focused coping and problem-
focused coping. This research found that researchers often use problem-focused
coping when managing their anxiety when carrying out field teaching practice. This
study offers valuable insights into the lived experiences and coping strategies an
EFL pre-service teacher employs to manage anxiety during their field teaching
practice.
