Abstract
ABSTRAK
Fitriani, Nim. 2020050101140. “Budidaya Rumput Laut Dalam
Meningkatkan Kesejahteraan Masyarakat Desa Rahia Kecamatan
Gu Kabupaten Buton Tengah”. Melalui bimbingan dari Dr.
Akmal, M.E dan Jafaruddin, M.Pd
Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui budidaya rumput laut
dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat Desa Rahia Kecamatan
Gu. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi,
wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian
dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian
deskriptif. Observasi difokuskan pada aktivitas petani di lahan
budidaya, proses pengolahan rumput laut, dan intraksi antar petani,
wawancara dilakukan dengan sejumlah petani rumput laut dengan
tujuan untuk menganalisis lebih mendalam mengenai budidaya rumput
laut, sementara dokumentasi digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data
sekunder berupa profil dan administratif Desa Rahia Kecamatan Gu.
Hasil temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa budidaya rumput laut
mampu meningkatkan kesejahteraan bagi masyarakat Desa Rahia.
Pendapatan petani dari hasil panen dinilai cukup untuk memenuhi
kebutuhan dasar, membiayai pendidikan anak, serta meningkatkan
kualitas kesehatan keluarga. Namun terdapat sejumlah kendala dan
tantangan yang dihadapi para petani seperti serangan hama, cuaca
ekstrim, fluktuasi harga rumput laut di pasar, dan persoalan mutu
produk. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, diperlukan sinergi antara pemerintah
dalam pendampingan dan pelatihan, lembaga swadaya masyarakat, dan
sektor swasta dalam meningkatkan sarana dan prasarana, serta
memperluas jaringan pemasaran. Dengan demikian, optimalisasi
budidaya rumput laut berpotensi memperkuat kesejahteraan
masyarakat apabila didukung oleh kebijakan yang responsif dan
kolaborasi multistakeholder menjadi kunci dalam memastikan
keberlanjutan usaha dan stabilitas pendapatan petani rumput laut.

Community Welfare in Rahia Village, Gu District, Central Buton
Regency‟. Under the guidance of Dr Akmal, M.E and Jafaruddin,
M.Pd.
The purpose of this study was to determine the cultivation of
seaweed in improving community welfare in Rahia Village, Gu Subdistrict.
Data collection techniques were carried out through
observation, interviews, and documentation. Data was obtained from
the results of the research using a qualitative approach with a
descriptive research type. Observations focused on farmer activities in
the cultivation field, seaweed processing, and interactions between
farmers; interviews were conducted with a number of seaweed farmers
with the aim of analyzing more deeply about seaweed cultivation,
while documentation was used to collect secondary data in the form of
profiles and administrative of Rahia Village, Gu District. The research
findings show that seaweed farming is able to improve the welfare of
the people of Rahia Village. Farmers' income from the harvest is
considered sufficient to fulfill basic needs, pay for children's education,
and improve the quality of family health. However, farmers face a
number of constraints and challenges, such as pest attacks, extreme
weather, fluctuations in seaweed prices in the market, and product
quality issues. To overcome this, synergy is needed between the
government in mentoring and training, non-governmental
organizations, and the private sector in improving facilities and
infrastructure, as well as expanding marketing networks. Thus, the
optimization of seaweed cultivation has the potential to strengthen
community welfare if supported by responsive policies and multistakeholder
collaboration, which is key in ensuring business
sustainability and income stability for seaweed farmers.
