Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) Dalam
Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar IPA Peserta Didik di Smp Negeri 5 Kendari.

Rendahnya hasil belajar IPA dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan peserta
didik dalam memahami konsep-konsep sains yang lebih kompleks. Hal ini
disebabkan oleh, peserta didik yang cenderung pasif dan tidak antusias dalam
mengikuti pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan penerapan model
pembelajaran yang menarik dan menyenangkan seperti model pembelajaran
Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). Penelitian
ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan penerapan model pembelajaran STEAM
pada pembelajaran IPA, (2) Mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar IPA sebelum
penerapan model pembelajaran STEAM dan model pembelajaran Discovery
Learning, (3) Mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar IPA sebelum dan sesudah
penerapan model pembelajaran STEAM, (4) Mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar
IPA sesudah penerapan model pembelajaran STEAM dan model pembelajaran
Discovery Learning, dan (5) Mengetahui Efektivitas model pemelajaran STEAM
dalam peningkatan hasil belajar IPA. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan
menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen. Sampel pada penelitian ini yaitu kelas
VII K sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VII J sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan: (1) Penerapan model pembelajaran STEAM pada pembelajaran
IPA berdasarkan persentase aktivitas guru dan peserta didik mengalami
peningkatan pada tiap pertemuan. (2) tidak terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar IPA
sebelum penerapan model pembelajaran, thitung < ttabel = 0,357<1,998, sehingga
(H0) diterima. (3) Terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar IPA sebelum dan sesudah
penerapan model pembelajaran STEAM, thitung > ttabel = 10,573>2,035, sehingga
(H0) ditolak. (4) Terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar IPA sesudah penerapan model
pembelajaran, thitung > ttabel = 2,113>1,998, sehingga (H0) ditolak. (5) Penerapan
model pembelajaran STEAM cukup efektif untuk diterapkan pada pembelajaran
IPA, dimana persentase N-Gain sebesar 60%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model
pembejaran STEAM cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA peserta
didik.

Low science learning outcomes can affect students' ability to understand
more complex science concepts. This is caused by students who tend to be passive
and unenthusiastic in participating in learning. Therefore, it is necessary to apply
an interesting and fun learning model such as the Science, Technology,
Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) learning model. This study aims
to: (1) describe the application of the STEAM learning model in science learning,
(2) determine the differences in science learning outcomes before the application
of the STEAM learning model and the Discovery Learning learning model, (3)
determine the differences in science learning outcomes before and after the
application of the STEAM learning model, (4) determine the differences in
science learning outcomes after the application of the STEAM learning model and
the Discovery Learning learning model, and (5) determine the effectiveness of the
STEAM learning model in improving science learning outcomes. This study was
conducted using a quasi-experimental method. The sample in this study was class
VII K as the experimental class and VII J as the control class. The results of the
study showed: (1) The application of the STEAM learning model in science
learning based on the percentage of teacher and student activity increased at each
meeting. (2) There is no difference in science learning outcomes before the
implementation of the learning model, tcount < ttable = 0.357 < 1.998, so (H0) is
accepted. (3) There is a difference in science learning outcomes before and after
the implementation of the STEAM learning model, tcount > ttable = 10.573 >
2.035, so (H0) is rejected. (4) There is a difference in science learning outcomes
after the implementation of the learning model, tcount > ttable = 2.113 > 1.998, so
(H0) is rejected. (5) The implementation of the STEAM learning model is quite
effective for application in science learning, where the N-Gain percentage is 60%.
It can be concluded that the STEAM learning model is quite effective in
improving students' science learning outcomes.
