Ucok. 18010110010. Analisis Kesalahan Siswa SMPN Satap 18 Konawe
Selatan Dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Cerita Aritmatika Sosial Menurut
Klasifikasi Kastolan. Dosen Pembimbing I Imaludin Agus, M.Pd dan
Pembimbing II Firman Riansyah, M.Sc

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kesalahan siswa SMP dalam
menyelesaikan soal cerita aritmatika sosial berdasarkan klasifikasi Kastolan.
Masalah penelitian adalah tingginya kesalahan siswa dalam mengerjakan soal cerita
aritmatika sosial. Penelitian ingin mengetahui jenis kesalahan, penyebab, dan solusi
mengatasinya. Jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik
pengumpulan data melalui tes tertulis soal cerita aritmatika sosial dan wawancara
terstruktur. Analisis data: reduksi data, penyajian data dalam bentuk narasi, tabel
dan gambar, menarik kesimpulan tentang jenis dan penyebab kesalahan siswa
berdasarkan klasifikasi Kastolan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa jenis
kesalahan siswa SMP dalam mengerjakan soal cerita matematika materi aritmatika
sosial yang paling banyak adalah kesalahan konseptual 90% karena kurang
pemahaman materi. Diikuti kesalahan prosedural 80% akibat ketidaktelitian dan
kesalahan teknis 78% lantaran kemampuan perhitungan lemah. Solusinya dengan
penekanan pemahaman konsep, melatih ketelitian dan keterampilan menghitung
melalui banyak variasi soal latihan.Siswa paling banyak melakukan kesalahan
pemahaman konsep/rumus sebesar 90% karena kurang memahami materi
aritmatika sosial. Disarankan guru memberi penjelasan ulang dengan contoh
kontekstual, melakukan evaluasi rutin tingkat pemahaman siswa, serta memberi
banyak soal latihan untuk memperkuat konsep dan mengasah keterampilan. Guru
perlu mendampingi siswa yang lemah melalui remedial. Siswa juga disarankan rajin
berlatih soal, teliti dan sabar mengerjakan tanpa tergesa-gesa. Kerja sama guru dan
orang tua penting memantau kemajuan pembelajaran agar dapat melakukan
intervensi yang tepat mengatasi kesulitan siswa.

This study aims to analyze the errors made by junior high school students
in solving social arithmetic word problems based on Kastolan's classification. The
research problem is the high rate of errors made by students in solving social
arithmetic word problems. The study seeks to identify the types of errors, their
causes, and possible solutions. This is a qualitative study with a case study
approach. Data collection techniques include written tests of social arithmetic word
problems and structured interviews. Data analysis involves data reduction,
presentation in the form of narratives, tables, and diagrams, and drawing
conclusions about the types and causes of student errors based on Kastolan's
classification. The results show that the most frequent type of error made by junior
high school students in solving social arithmetic word problems is conceptual errors
(90%) due to a lack of understanding of the material. This is followed by procedural
errors (80%) due to inattention and technical errors (78%) due to weak calculation
skills. The solutions include emphasizing concept understanding, practicing
accuracy, and improving calculation skills through a variety of practice problems.
Students made the most errors in understanding concepts/formulas (90%) because
of insufficient understanding of social arithmetic material. It is recommended that
teachers provide additional explanations with contextual examples, routinely
evaluate students' understanding levels, and provide numerous practice problems to
strengthen concepts and sharpen skills. Teachers should also support weak students
through remedial sessions. Students are advised to regularly practice problems, be
meticulous, and work patiently without rushing. Cooperation between teachers and
parents is crucial to monitor learning progress and to implement appropriate
interventions to address students' difficulties.
