Kontemporer

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penafsiran QS. al-Baqarah [2]: 188 dari
perspektif empat ulama tafsir kontemporer, yaitu Sayyid Quṭb Ibrāhīm Ḥusan Shādhilī,
Wahbah az-Zuḥailī, Prof. Dr. Buya Hamka, dan Prof. Qurais Syhihab, dalam konteks
pemahaman tentang konsep larangan money politic dalam Al-Qur’an. Dengan
menggunakan pendekatan komparatif, penelitian ini berupaya mengungkap persamaan,
perbedaan, dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi penafsiran dari keempat mufassir
tersebut dan implikasi praktik money politic. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian
ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian kepustakaan (library research).
Sumber data primer yang digunakan adalah tafsir Fī Zhilāl al-Qur’ān, tafsir tafsir alMunīr
fīl-‘Aqīdah
wal-Syarī‘ah
wa
al-Manhaj,
tafsir
al-
azhar,
dan
tafsir
al-Mishbāḥ.

Sedangkan
sumber
data
sekunder
meliputi buku,
jurnal, dan
artikel yang
relevan
dengan

topik
penelitian.
Hasil
penelitian
menunjukkan
bahwa
keempat
mufassir
sepakat
dalam

menafsirkan
QS.
al-Baqarah
[2]:
188
menegaskan
pentingnya
hidup
dalam
kejujuran,

keadilan,
dan
ketaatan
kepada
Allah
SWT,
agar
tidak
terjerumus
dalam
tindakan
yang

tercela,

seperti praktik money politic yang dapat merusak moral dan integritas. Oleh
karena itu, dengan memahami pesan yang terkandung dalam ayat ini melalui perspektif
para ulama tafsir kontemporer, diharapkan manusia dapat lebih bijaksana dalam
menyikapi kehidupan di dunia dan menjaga integritas serta tanggung jawabnya, terutama
dalam persoalan yang berkaitan dengan politik dan kekuasaan. Meskipun terdapat
perbedaan penekanan dalam penafsiran mereka, hal ini tidak mengurangi esensi pesan
utama ayat tersebut sebagai kritik terhadap praktik money politic. Perbedaan penafsiran
dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor seperti latar belakang keilmuan, kondisi sosio-historis,
dan pendekatan tafsir yang digunakan oleh setiap mufassir. Penelitian ini mengungkap
berbagai implikasi negatif dari praktik money politic, seperti Merusak tatanan keadilan
dan amanah dalam pemerintahan, Menyuburkan korupsi dan memperkuat kekuasaan
yang zalim, menimbulkan kesenjangan sosial, Merosotkan moral dan nilai-nilai etika
masyarakat, Menurunkan kualitas kepemimpinan serta melupakan tujuan hidup yang
hakiki. Hasil penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam pengembangan studi tafsir al-Qur'an,
serta dapat menjadi landasan bagi penelitian selanjutnya dan memberikan masukan bagi
para pendakwah, pendidik, dan pembuat kebijakan dalam merumuskan strategi untuk
menghadapi praktik money politic.

This study aims to examine the interpretation of QS. al-Baqarah [2]: 188 from the
perspective of four contemporary scholars of interpretation, namely Sayyid Quṭb Ibrāhīm
Ḥusan Shādhilī, Wahbah az-Zuḥailī, Prof. Dr. Buya Hamka, and Prof. Qurais Syhihab,
in the context of understanding the concept of the prohibition of money politics in the
Qur'an. By using a comparative approach, this study attempts to uncover the similarities,
differences, and factors that influence the interpretation of the four commentators and the
implications of the practice of money politics. The method used in this study is a
qualitative method with a library research type. The primary data sources used are the
interpretation of Fī Zhilāl al-Qur’ān, the interpretation of al-Munīr fīl-‘Aqīdah walSyarī‘ah

wa al-Manhaj, the interpretation of al-Azhar, and the interpretation of alMishbāḥ.

Meanwhile, secondary data sources include books, journals, and articles
relevant to the research topic. The results of the study show that the four commentators
agree in interpreting QS. al-Baqarah [2]: 188, which emphasizes the importance of living
in honesty, justice, and obedience to Allah SWT, so as not to fall into reprehensible
actions, such as the practice of money politics which can damage morals and integrity.
Therefore, by understanding the message contained in this verse through the perspective
of contemporary commentators, it is hoped that humans can be wiser in responding to
life in the world and maintaining their integrity and responsibility, especially in matters
related to politics and power. Although there are differences in emphasis in their
interpretations, this does not reduce the essence of the main message of the verse as a
criticism of the practice of money politics. Differences in interpretation are influenced
by factors such as scientific background, socio-historical conditions, and the interpretive
approach used by each commentator. This study reveals various negative implications of
the practice of money politics, such as undermining the order of justice and trust in
government, fostering corruption and strengthening oppressive power, creating social
inequality, degrading morals and ethical values of society, reducing the quality of
leadership and forgetting the true purpose of life. The results of this study contribute to
the development of the study of the interpretation of the Qur'an, and can be a basis for
further research and provide input for preachers, educators, and policy makers in
formulating strategies to deal with the practice of money politics.
