THROUGH THE APPLICATION OF GROUP WORK LEARNING METHODS
IN CLASS VIII OF SMPN I ANDOWIA. Supervised by Dr. H. Moh Yahya Obaid

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve student learning
outcomes through group work methods in Islamic religious education subjects for Class
VIII C at SMPN 1 Andowia. Data collection techniques used in this study are
observation, documentation, Tests and Interviews. While the implementation of this
research was carried out in two cycles, in each cycle 1 was carried out with two
meetings while cycle 2 was carried out with two meetings. The results obtained in this
study indicate that the application of group work methods can improve student learning
outcomes in Islamic religious education subjects for class VIII C at SMPN 1 Andowia
with an achievement of 80%. This can be seen from cycle I, namely students who
completed 38.27% and Cycle II reached 97.50% so that it is categorized as good. Based
on the results of this study: 1) To measure the level of initial learning outcomes of
students, a Pre-Test was carried out, the average value of students in the initial test was
56.62 and the percentage of learning completion was only 28.33%. The test results
were very far from what was expected by the researcher, namely 80%. 2) The
effectiveness of the application of group work methods in improving student learning
outcomes can be seen from the increase that occurred between cycle 1 and cycle 2, it
is known that the average class is 68.27 with learning completeness of 38.27% and
58.97% not yet complete, while in cycle 2, classical completeness reached 97.50% with
an average value of 89.17.
