Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Peserta Didik”. Dibimbing Oleh: Hasrin
Lamote, S.Pd.,M.Sc. dan Dedyerianto, S,Si.,M.Si.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui tingkat self-confidence peserta didik
dalam pembelajaran matematika di kelas VIII SMPN 24 Buton Tengah; (2)
mengetahui tingkat kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik di kelas VIII
SMPN 24 Buton Tengah; (3) mengetahui pengaruh self-confidence terhadap
kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah
kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif dan teknik analisis regresi linear sederhana.
Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa angket self-confidence dan
tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Subjek penelitian adalah seluruh peserta
didik kelas VIII SMPN 24 Buton Tengah tahun ajaran 2024/2025 yang dipilih
dengan teknik sampling jenuh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) tingkat
self-confidence peserta didik sebagian besar berada pada kategori sedang yaitu
sebesar 89,83%; (2) tingkat kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik
mayoritas berada pada kategori sedang yaitu sebesar 59,32%; dan (3) terdapat
pengaruh signifikan self-confidence terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis
dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,018 dan koefisien determinasi sebesar 0,095.
Artinya, sebesar 9,5% kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik
dipengaruhi oleh tingkat self-confidence mereka. Dengan demikian, semakin
tinggi self-confidence peserta didik, maka semakin tinggi pula kemampuan
mereka dalam mengomunikasikan ide-ide matematis.

This study aims to: (1) determine the level of students’ self-confidence in learning
mathematics in grade VIII of SMPN 24 Buton Tengah; (2) determine the level of
students’ mathematical communication skills in grade VIII of SMPN 24 Buton
Tengah; (3) examine the influence of self-confidence on students’ mathematical
communication skills. This research employs a quantitative approach with a
descriptive method and simple linear regression analysis technique. The
instruments used in this study were a self-confidence questionnaire and a
mathematical communication skills test. The subjects of the study were all grade
VIII students of SMPN 24 Buton Tengah in the 2024/2025 academic year, selected
using a saturated sampling technique. The results of the study show that: (1) most
students’ self-confidence level falls into the moderate category, amounting to
89.83%; (2) the majority of students’ mathematical communication skills are in
the moderate category, amounting to 59.32%; and (3) there is a significant
influence of self-confidence on mathematical communication skills with a
significance value of 0.018 and a coefficient of determination of 0.095. This
means that 9.5% of students’ mathematical communication skills are influenced
by their level of self-confidence. Thus, the higher the students’ self-confidence, the
higher their ability to communicate mathematical ideas.
