Abstract

This dissertation is motivated by the diversity of human views on the meaning of mah}}abbah, the fact shows that there are several mah}abbah terminology such as mawaddah, rahmah, al-shaghaf, mail, ra'fa, these have different meanings. Then the researcher chose the Tafsir al-Qur'an al-Azim by Sahl Abd'Allah al-Tustari as the object of study because this interpretation is unique with its extensive knowledge influencing interpretation and thought in the world Muslim community, which according to several studies of this book is included in the category of social-social interpretation (al-adabi al-ijtima'i) and also ishari's interpretation of this research is the development of previous studies. Who examines the concept of mah}abbah in this dissertation, the author raises three main issues 1. How is the construction of mah}abbah in Sahl Abdullah al-Tustari's Tafsir al-Qur'an al-Azim integrated with Abraham Maslow's humanistic psychology? 2. What are the characteristics of mah}abbah in Tafsir al-Quran al-Azim Sahl 'Abd'Allah al-Tustari which is integrated with Abraham Maslow's humanistic psychology? 3. How is the implementation of mah}abbah in the interpretation of the Qur'an Al azim by Sahl 'Abd'Allah al-Tustari which is integrated with Abraham Maslow's humanistic psychology?
This study is a library research. using the maudhui or thematic method in tracing the meaning of mah}abbah in the Qur'an, and finding the construction of mah}abbah in the Tafsir al-Qur'an al-Azim by al-Tustari. Through the verses of mah}abbah Then use a humanistic psychology approach to analyze the mahabbah of the interpretation of the Qur'an al azim al Tustari
The results of this dissertation are first; that the Mah}abbah al-Tustari construction is submission of the heart, obedience of all members of the body to the shara' commands and avoiding His prohibitions. The practice is by applying love to Allah and His Messenger, zuhud to the world, following the scriptures and sunnah, fearing to indulge in lust that drives him to slip into error. Second; Mah}}abbah, according to al-Tustarī is integrated with Abraham Maslow's humanistic psychology. Al-Tustari is of the view that in his interpretation he has a celestial Sufistic tendency, integrated with Maslow's worldly theory. Mah}}abbah can be integrated with Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of basic needs, namely; physiological needs, the need for security, the need for recognition and affection, the need for self-esteem, and the need for self-actualization. In the context of social life, the concept of mah}abbah, according to al-Tustarī if practiced, can affect a person's personality, in forming a person who always draws closer to Allah, is always committed to goodness, and always focuses on the future.
