Abstract

ABSTRAK
Siksa Neraka adalah sebuah film yang mengangkat tema tentang kehidupan
setelah kematian dan konsekuensi dari perbuatan manusia di dunia. Cerita berfokus
pada sekelompok tokoh yang mengalami berbagai kejadian mistis setelah melakukan
perbuatan buruk selama di dunia. Melalui perjalanan mereka, film ini menggambarkan
penderitaan yang dialami oleh empat kakak beradik yaitu Saleh, Fajar, Tiyas dan
Azizah. Penelitian ini mengkaji representasi QS. An-Nisā' [4]: 56 dalam film Siksa
Neraka menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan memanfaatkan teori semiotika
Roland Barthes. Tujuan utamanya adalah mengungkap bentuk misinterpretasi ayat
tersebut dalam film dan menganalisis implikasinya terhadap pemahaman penonton.
Melalui analisis denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos, penelitian ini menemukan adanya
beberapa misinterpretasi, seperti pergeseran makna dan penggambaran siksaan neraka
yang terlalu literal. Transformasi penafsiran ke dalam bentuk visual juga mengalami
penyesuaian yang tidak selalu sejalan dengan penafsiran. Respon penonton terhadap
film ini beragam, dengan menggunakan analisis sentimen yaitu respon negatif, positif
dan netral. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa meskipun film Siksa Neraka berhasil
menarik perhatian dan memicu pemikiran tentang konsekuensi perbuatan, diperlukan
pendekatan yang lebih komprehensif dalam merepresentasikan ayat-ayat Al Qur'an ke
dalam bentuk visual untuk menghindari kesalahan makna yang signifikan.

Siksa Neraka is a movie about life after death and the consequences of human
actions in the world. The story focuses on a group of characters who experience
various mystical events after doing bad deeds while in the world. Through their
journey, the movie depicts the suffering experienced by four siblings, Saleh, Fajar,
Tiyas and Azizah. This research examines the representation of QS. An-Nisā' [4]: 56
in the film Siksa Neraka uses a qualitative approach by utilizing Roland Barthes'
semiotic theory. The main objective is to reveal the distorted interpretation of the verse
in the film and analyze its implications for the audience's understanding. Through the
analysis of denotation, connotation, and myth, this study found several distortions of
interpretation, such as a shift in meaning and an overly literal depiction of the
torments of hell. The transformation of interpretation into visual form also undergoes
adjustments that are not always in line with the interpretation. The audience's
response to the movie is diverse, using sentiment analysis, namely negative, positive
and neutral responses. This study concludes that although the movie Siksa Neraka
managed to attract attention and trigger thoughts about the consequences of actions,
a more comprehensive approach is needed in representing Qur'anic verses into visual
form to avoid significant distortion of meaning.
