Abstract

ABSTRACT
Jabarullah SID 16010106082. EFL Novice Teachers’ Experience in Teaching
English during COVID-19 Pandemic. Supervised by: Abdul Halim S. Pd, M.
TESOL and Ilfan Askul Pehala S.Pd, M.Hum
This ongoing pandemic has demanded a rapid response to the unparalleled
suspension of face-to-face teaching around the world. This study aims to know
the experience that EFL teachers in Southeast Sulawesi encountered regarding
teaching English during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The data were collected
through be reflection guidelines that were gathered using an online platform
(Google form). A selection of 7 EFL novice teachers as the informants of this
study. By synthesizing the relevant literature with the collected data which were
analyzed using coding, the results of this study indicate that most of the EFL
novice teachers who have experienced actual English teaching in several schools,
In addition, the schools they occupy are still constrained by poor networks,
students who still lack knowledge about learning using networks. This study
implies the novice teacher and researcher are expected to be able to think of ways
to overcome and design appropriate and effective teaching materials, which in
turn can reduce and overcome the challenges of novices EFL teachers when teach
during covid-19 pandemic.
