M. Yasir Hamsah. 19010101062. The Efforts of PAI Teachers in Improving
the Quality of Students' Morality and Ethics at SMAN 1 Motui.

This study aims to analyze the character and moral description of class XI
students at SMAN 1 Motui and to identify the strategies of PAI teachers in
making efforts to improve the quality of character and morals of class XI students
at SMAN 1 Motui. The focus of this research is on the efforts made by PAI
teachers in improving the quality of Morality and Ethics of class XI students of
SMAN 1 Motui. This type of research is a qualitative research using field research
methods. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and
documentation with data analysis techniques, namely data collection, data
reduction, and data presentation. The technique for testing the validity of the data
uses source triangulation techniques, technical triangulation and time
triangulation. The results of this study indicate that there are various indications
showing the low quality of character and morals of class XI students at SMAN 1
Motui, while these indications include smoking, brawls, not praying, dating,
speaking harshly and calling parents names, wearing uniforms that do not
according to school rules, arriving late, bullying, not doing assignments and
making noise when the teacher explains. The factors behind the occurrence of
indications of low morals and student morals are family factors, social
environment, school factors and the influence of globalization. Several efforts
were implemented by PAI teachers, such as efforts through a persuasive approach
strategy, giving advice, planting moral and moral values, and making the person a
good role model. However, several factors also become obstacles such as lack of
attention from parents, environmental influences, both the school environment and
the community.
