Abstract

Roslika (16010105024) improves the ability to recognize letters through the
use of group B image media paud Sultan Qaimuddin Kendari.
(Guided by Dr. Hj. St. Kuraedah M. Ag)
This class action research aims to determine the level of achievement of child
letter recognition development in group B of PAUD Sultan Qaimuddin Kendari.
Data is collected through observation, documentation, interviews and
assessments. Meanwhile, the model chosen to carry out actions is the Kemmis and
Mc Taggart models which have several stages, namely planning, implementation,
observation and reflection. Data on the development of recognizing children's
letters were obtained through observation, interviews, documentation, and
assessment, then this study was analyzed using percentages. The study was
conducted two cycles, each cycle was carried out three meetings. The results of
the implementation of the action show that the use of image media to children can
improve the development of children's letter recognition in the PAUD Sultan
Qaimuddin Kendari group. This can be seen from the results of observations that
show that the development of recognizing children's letters has changed very well.
In the pre-action that develops as much as 18.18%, in the first cycle the child's
indicators are able to define letters, children are able to name letters, children are
able to arrange letter cards according to pictures there are 18.18% of children and
children are able to distinguish letters there are 27.27% of children who are on the
BSH criteria, in the BSB criteria there are 9.90% of children in all indicators. In
cycle II, children who are on the indicators of children are able to recognize letters
as many as 36.36% of children, who are able to name letters as many as 63.63%
of children, who are able to arrange letter cards according to pictures as many as
72.72% of children, and who are able to distinguish letters as many as 72.72% of
children. This shows an improvement from the initial research to cycle II, and it
can be said that the ability to recognize children's letters has increased
significantly and can be said to be successful because it is in accordance with the
achievement level indicator of 75%
