Abstract

Musdalifa, NIM: 2020010110006. Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Discovery
Learning Terhadap kemampuan pemahaman matematis Peserta Didik di SMP
Negeri 23 Kendari, program Studi Tadris Matematika. Dibimbing oleh: Dr.
Masdin M.Pd dan Tandri Patih M. Si.
Model pembelajaran yang dapat membantu peserta didik dalam
meningkatkan pemahaman matematis salah satunya adalah dengan menerapkan
model pembelajaran Discovery Learning. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah: 1)
Untuk mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran pendidikan matematika dengan
model pembelajaran Discovery Learning. 2) Untuk mendeskripsikan capaian
belajar peserta didik menggunakan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning. 3)
Untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning
terhadap kemampuan pemahaman matematis peserta didik di SMP Negeri 23
Kendari. 4) Untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran
Konvensional terhadap kemampuan pemahaman matematis peserta didik di SMP
Negeri 23 Kendari. 5) Untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model
pembelajaran Discovery Learning denga model pembelajaran Konvensional
terhadap kemampuan pemahaman matematis peserta didik di SMP Negeri 23
Kendari. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu. Teknik
pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling. Kelas VII C sebagai
kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII B sebagai kelas kontrol. Metode pengumpulan
data terdiri dari tes kemampuan pemahaman matematis dan lembar observasi
guru. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Kemampuan pemahaman
matematis peserta didik yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Discovery
Learning sebagian besar berada pada tingkat tinggi dengan presentase N-Gain
53,33%. 2) Kemampuan pemahaman matematis peserta didik yang
menggunakan model pembelajaran Konvensional sebagian berada pada tingkat
rendah dengan presentase 92,85%. 3) Ada pengaruh penerapan model
pembelajaran Discovery Learning terhadap kemampuan pemahaman matematis
peserta didik. 4) Ada pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Konvensional
terhadap kemampuan pemahaman matematis peserta didik. 5) Ada perbedaan
pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning dengan penerapan
model Konvensional terhadap kemampuan pemahaman matematis peserta didik.

One of the learning models that can help students in improving
mathematical understanding is by applying the Discovery Learning model which
is also an effort to improve the mathematical understanding ability of students in
Indonesia. The objectives in this study are: 1) To describe the learning process of
mathematics education with the Discovery Learning model. 2) To describe the
learning achievement of students using the Discovery Learning model. 3) To
determine the effect of the application of Discovery Learning learning model on
students' mathematical understanding at SMP Negeri 23 Kendari. 4) To
determine the effect of the application of conventional learning model on students'
mathematical understanding at SMP Negeri 23 Kendari. 5) To determine the
effect of the application of Discovery Learning model with conventional learning
model on students' mathematical understanding in SMP Negeri 23 Kendari. This
research is a quasi-experimental. The sampling technique used cluster random
sampling. Class VII C as the experimental class and class VII B as the control
class. Data collection methods consisted of mathematical understanding ability
tests and teacher observation sheets. The results of this study showed that: 1) The
mathematical understanding ability of students taught using the Discovery
Learning model is mostly at a high level with an N-Gain percentage of 53.33%. 2)
The mathematical understanding ability of students taught using conventional
learning models is mostly at a low level with a percentage of 92.85%. 3) There is
an effect of the application of the Discovery Learning model on students'
mathematical understanding. 4) There is an effect of the application of
conventional learning models on students' mathematical understanding. 5) There
is a difference in the effect of the application of Discovery Learning learning
model with the application of conventional models on students' mathematical
understanding ability.
