Abstract

NUR AFNI, NIM: 19010108039. Kajian Kompetensi Pedagogik Guru Biologi
di SMA Negeri 11 Kendari (Dibimbing oleh Balda S.Si., M. Si dan Andi
Nurannisa Syam M.Pd).
Education is one of the most important things in the process of life in
developing the potential that exists in a person to be able to adapt to the
surrounding environment. This study aims to determine the Pedagogic
Competency Study of Biology Teachers at SMA Negeri 11 Kendari. This research
is a type of qualitative research with a phenomenological study approach where
researchers attempt to analyze research data through primary data sources in the
form of observational transcripts, supplemented by secondary data sources in the
form of interviews with biology teachers at SMA Negeri 11 Kendari which were
held at SMA Negeri 11 Kendari. The number of biology teachers observed was 1
person, the interview informants consisted of school principals, biology teachers
and students totaling 5 people. The research results show that there are 7 (seven)
indicators, namely: 1) mastering the learning characteristics of students is
categorized as capable with a percentage value of 83.33%; 2) applying learning
theory and learning principles that educate are categorized as capable with a
percentage value of 75%; 3) curriculum/syllabus development is categorized as
capable with a percentage value of 75%; 4) learning activities that educate are
categorized as capable with a percentage value of 75%; 5) understanding and
developing the potential of students categorized as capable with a percentage
value of 78.57; 6) communication with students is categorized as capable with a
percentage value of 75%; 7) assessment and evaluation are categorized as
capable with a percentage value of 75%. In general, teachers have been able to
apply pedagogic competence in learning activities, although there are several
things that are inhibiting factors for increasing pedagogic competence, including
lack of assistance and old age. So that it becomes a major factor in learning. The
dominant efforts made by teachers to increase pedagogical competence are
participating in training and participating in teacher work strengthening (PKG).
