Abstract

ABSTRACT
Nurul Auliah Pratiwi SID 19010106016. "Investigating the Positive Environment
in Speaking Class of EFL Learners" Supervised by: Sarjaniah Zur, S.Pd.I., M.Pd

This case study intends to investigate the type of positive environment in
the speaking class based on the experiences of EFL students during learning. The
participants were 10 EFL students who had completed speaking courses in the
first semester. Online reflection and semi-structured interviews were used to
obtain qualitative research data. The results of the data analysis show that there
are four types of positive environments in the speaking class, namely positive
relationships, which consist of well-established interactions in the classroom
during learning; supportive learning classroom, which consists of friends who
help each other during education; creative teacher, which consists of teachers who
interestingly present material; and finally motivation, which includes the teacher
motivating students to speak during the lesson. This investigation found that
teachers more often provide exciting material to EFL students. The benefits of this
positive environment have an extraordinary impact on the learning of EFL
students in the speaking class who have concerns when speaking.
